Local Beaches
See and do
The nearest beach to the Nook is 30 mins away at Sidmouth. There are two main beaches: the town beach and Esplanade (with lots of hotels, bars and some good cafes), and Jacob's Ladder, a long, pebble beach with sand at low tide. Dogs permitted on part of Jacob’s Ladder Beach.

At Branscombe beach, there are beautiful views of the local coastline, an active fishing community and opportunities for mackerel fishing. Dogs are permitted throughout the year.

There are miles of sand at Exmouth beach. Dogs are allowed on some parts of the beach.

Dawlish Warren is a traditional seaside resort with amusements.

Lyme Regis is an historic seaside town, with several beaches. Famous for fossil-hunting, you can find ammonites amongst the fallen rocks on the beach.
