Fine Dining:

For a special occasion, why not book a table at Lympstone Manor?  This fairly recently renovated hotel is run by celebrity Michelin-starred chef, Michael Caines. He promises that you will 'experience the exceptional' and he openly champions the use of local producers for everything from the ingredients to the candles. If the weather is fine, we highly recommend afternoon tea on the terrace. The views beyond the vineyard over the Exe Estuary are simply stunning.

Another fine-dining experience is The Pig - at Combe. This restaurant offers a less formal setting in another stunning location. Their menu consists of fresh fish, as well as the very best Devonshire cheese and locally reared meat from butchers around the nearby market town of Honiton.

The Five Bells, Clyst Hydon  Tel. 01884 277288 www.fivebells.uk.com.  Gastropub. Sunny beer garden with play equipment.

The Pea Green Boat, Sidmouth www.thepeagreenboat.com Specialising in seafood on Sidmouth Esplanade.
