Walking

See and do

There are simply hundreds of walks across Devon. Click here for Devon County Council’s guide to walks in the county.

Blackdown Hills – Were very near this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and there are 17 great walks on this website: https://blackdownhillsaonb.org.uk/walk-ride-category/walking/

The Grand Western Canal country park and nature reserve has miles of flat, easy walking, and pub stops along the way https://www.devon.gov.uk/grandwesterncanal/.  We recommend the Swans Neck loop, starting at the Canal Hill car park in Halberton.

Hembury Fort – with gorgeous bluebells in spring and amazing copper foliage in autumn, it's an Iron Age hill fort just off the road to Honiton - worth exploring.

We are, of course, close to the East Devon section of the South West Coast Path. Walks from Sidmouth, Beer, Branscombe or Seaton are all wonderful. Explore your options here: https://www.southwestcoastpath.org.uk/

The Devon Wildlife Trust has some 'wild walks'.  Click here for details.
